🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Voice Frustration Regarding Size Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel without notifying every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Backlash Countless users and merchants have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to examine their items and manually change the size if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Modifications Previously, the sizing featured one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she said. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: previously, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
